An Indigenous woman from Williams Lake is one of three B.C. residents selected for an international internship.
Twenty-year-old Izaria Bowe of the Esketemc First Nation will be travelling to Kenya to work on clean water, conservation, and community sustainability projects.
Bowe was chosen from a national competition as part of the International Internships for Indigenous Youth Program through the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation.
She’ll join the other interns in Ottawa for pre-departure training in August before departing for Kenya.
Bowe will be working with the Rift Valley Resource Centre and Run for Life for four months.
