Construction crews in Kitimat uncovered something a little more explosive than dirt yesterday evening.
A crew working just outside of the town immediately shut down work and contacted RCMP when they dug up an old box of dynamite.
Kitimat RCMP and the provincial Explosives Unit responded to the scene just before 6:00.
They were able to stabilize the explosives and dispose of them without any further incident.
Police say the box could have been burried and forgotten about since the 60s, and say the crew did the right thing in calling them.
