UPDATE: All participant spots have now been filled, thank you to all who signed up to participate!
All spots in the Tears to Hope relay run have filled up, 2 days prior to the final sign-up date.
Put on by the Tears to Hope Society, the relay will feature two separate legs, one beginning in Prince Rupert, and one in Smithers.
Runners will gather in the two communities on June 21st, converging in Terrace on the 22nd to wrap up the relay.
Participants are running in support of a healthy and safety community for Indigenous women and girls along the infamous Highway.
While all places in the full relay have been filled, residents are still invited to walk the final leg from the Shames Mountain parking lot to George Little Park.
Those wishing to join the runners at Shames will be able to do so free of charge, but must sign up on the Tears to Hope Facebook page.
A celebration will be held at the Kitsumkalum Hall with donations being taken for Kitsumkalum youth.
More details can also be found at the Society’s Facebook page, here.
