RCMP in Quesnel are searching for a suspect following an early morning vehicle theft.
Police were intitially called out to an Abbott Drive apartment at roughly 7:00 for reports of an altercation, which led to a vehicle being stolen.
Officers were able to quickly locate the stolen Honda Civic, which was whipping down Lewis Drive at high speeds.
Due to the suspect’s erratic and dangerous driving, officers were forced to call off their pursuit after the vehicle refused to pull over.
Patrols in the area later located the car, unoccupied, in an alley between Winder Street and Willis Street.
An investigation is on-going and the vehicle is currently undergoing forensic examinations.
