British Columbia will be shipping fire crews to Alberta beginning tomorrow to assist in wildfire fighting efforts.
In total, 267 personnel will be deployed between tomorrow and Thursday to answer the Canadian Interagency Fire Centre’s call for assistance.
Given current projections and forecasts, the BC Wildfire Service says they are still retaining more than enough resources to respond to any activity within the province.
Wildfire crews can be deployed out of province for up to 19 days but can be recalled at any time if necessary.
In total, BC is sending 10 initial attack teams, and 10 unit crews, as well as a number of support personnel.
