Williams Lake RCMP say they were able to prevent a man from jumping off a hotel roof over the weekend.
Officers approached the 30-year-old Saturday afternoon, noting he was the subject of several unendorsed warrants.
Police say the man fled and climbed on to the roof of the Slumber Lodge. Officers say he appeared to be suffering from withdrawal and mental health issues and threatened to jump.
RCMP were able to deescalate the situation and eventually talk the man down off the roof to safety.
After a brief foot chase, police were able to take the man into custody.
