Global Affairs Canada says that, after a year-long battle, US tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum will be removed within 2 days.
Last June, the US began imposing tariffs of 25 percent on Canadian steel imports, and 10 percent on aluminum.
Since then, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has argued that the tariffs are illegal, and that Canada poses no security threats to ths US.
As part of the agreement, Canada will drop its retaliatory case against the US with the World Trade Organization regarding section 232 tariffs.
A monitoring system which will watch for market surges will also be introduced as part of the deal.
