In a new survey released today, BC Hydro says switching to an electric vehicle could save you thousands.
A study performed by the corporation found that and electric vehicle costs the equivallent of 25 cents per litre of gas to charge up, based on May 15th prices.
In comparing top ranked gas vehicles to top ranked electric vehicles, BC Hydro found residents could save as much as 80 percent on fuel costs.
Currently there are roughly 18 thousand electric cars on BC Roads.
As part of their CleanBC strategy, the province has promised to make all cars on the roads zero-emissions by 2040.
