In response to recommendations from the Rental Housing Task Force, the province will be boosting education and enforcement for landlords and renters.
During phase one of their response plan, the Ministry of Housing will launch an education program centred around the rights of landlords and tennants.
Within the Residential Tenancy Branch, a new enforcement unit has been created to investigate complaints levied against landlords and renters.
A new local government liaison position has also been created to assist communities in cases of illegal evictions.
