Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb is recovering in a Kelowna hospital after successful surgery relating to a Wednesday heart attack.
Mayor Cobb admitted himself in to Cariboo Memorial on Wednesday morning, and was subsequently transferred to Kelowna General Hospital.
There, he was diagnosed with a heart attack and underwent successful treatment.
Cobb is expected to be back in Williams Lake next week, but will be recovering for several weeks.
During the Mayor’s absence, Councillor Craig Smith will fill in as acting mayor.
Cobb’s family has asked that the public respect their privacy while the Mayor recovers.
