A Williams Lake company plans to fill some of the void left when Greyhound pulled out of BC.
The Passenger Transportation Board has approved an application by Adventure Charters and Rentals to operate two inter-city bus routes between Williams Lake and Kamloops and from Prince George to Surrey.
The Williams Lake to Kamloops run would service to six communities along Highway 97 while the Prince to Surrey route would stop at 13 communities including those on the Fraser Canyon section of Highway 1. Both routes would operate at least twice a week.
The company says it plans to have a full schedule and pricing available by April 15th.
Adventure Charters says its service will be very similar to Greyhound as far as the stops and communities it serves, but there won’t be depots and staff at each community.
The company has been in business since 2005 and operates a fleet of 7 buses ranging in size from 14 to 55 passengers.
It says it wants to build a safe and viable service that will operate for years to come.
