A presentation from earlier in the week had Smithers Town Council split on Coastal GasLink’s handling of their controversial pipeline project.
On Tuesday a pair of TransCanada employees visited Council to update them on the project and address concerns.
During the presentation, the presenters made it clear that they were not happy with the way they had handled communication in the past.
They went on to say that they’ve learned from this experience, and intend to provide more details and updates going forward.
Councillors seemed torn in their opinions of CGL, with some saying they wanted more involvement, and some saying they were pleased by the optimism in the project thus far.
