Spring-time renovations will help Williams Lake improve their emergency response capabilities.
Expansions to the Cariboo Regional District’s Williams Lake office this spring will create a dedicated Emergency Operations Centre.
Staff offices, meeting rooms, and expandable breakout rooms will be added to the adjacent lot, which the District currently rents out.
CAO John MacLean says that the new EOC will improve efficiency of both emergency services, and the District’s regular activities.
A 25 thousand dollar grant from the Union of BC Municipalities Community Preparedness Fund will help support the continued improvement of the EOC offices.
