For the second time this year, the province is making changes to the way the BC Supreme Court handles motor vehicle action cases.
On February 11th, changes were made to reduce expert evidence and opinions to avoid stretching cases out and inflating costs.
Additional changes were announced on Friday which seek to minimize the impacts of the new rules on cases already making their way throught the system.
Cases with a trial date before December 31st of this year will be exempt to the limitations of the new rules.
Friday’s changes will also allow those who incurred costs relating to expert appearances prior to the February 11th changes to recover costs incurred.
