Six weeks of fuel management burning around Williams Lake is beginning today.
Residents of Williams Lake and the surrounding communities way be able to see smoke while the burning is underway.
BC Wildfire crews conducting the burns are fully equipped to handle and monitor the fires, which will take place, weather permitting, between now and April 30th.
Planned burns will cover a roughly 20 hectare area north of the Fox Mountain subdivision.
These burns will help stifle the spread of fires during the upcoming wildfire season.
