Jody Wilson-Raybould will not be returning to the Justice Committee to issue a second testimony.
Yesterday, Liberal MPs sent a letter to Committee Chair Anthony Housefather declaring their intent to leave the SNC-Lavalin affair in the hands of the Ethics Commissioner.
Opposition had been requesting the former Attorney General return to the stand to answer concerns brought up in Gerald Butts’ testimony.
In the letter, Liberal MPs say they approached the probe with an open mind, and accuse the opposition of jumping to early conclusions.
Based on the findings revealed during the probe, the letter states that they believe all rules and laws were followed.
Last month, Wilson-Raybould stood in front of the committee to issue a 4 hour testimony in which she says she felt pressure from Trudeau’s office to issue a DPA to SNC-Lavalin.
Today will represent the Committee’s 11th meeting in the last 5 weeks.
