Some northern B.C. schools will get playgrounds courtesy of a provincial funding program.
The Playground Equipment Program (PEP) will provide $5 million in 50 new playgrounds in 34 school districts around the province, including 30 universally accessible playgrounds.
The Cariboo Chilcotin School District will receive $90,000 for a standard playground at Tatla Lake Elementary-Junior Secondary.
The Peace River South School District will get $90,000 for a standard playground at Moberly Lake Elementary while the Peace River North School District will see $105,000 for an accessible playground at Duncan Cran Elementary.
The Prince George School District will get a total of $180,000 to be split between new parks at Valemount elementary and Van Bien Elementary.
The playgrounds are expected to be ready for kids to play on by fall, 2019.
