A lockdown issued at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake yesterday turned out to be a false alarm.
Reports of a man armed with a knife roaming the hospital forced the lockdown at around 2:00 yesterday afternoon.
RCMP responded to the scene, where they located a 26 year-old man who attempted to flee from officers.
Police were able to track down and arrest the man after a short chase.
Upon further investigation, officers found that the man did not, in fact, have a knife and that his erratic behaviour was medically related.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident and the lockdown was removed shortly after.
