Terrace resident Amanda Ramsay has put her name forward as a candidate to fill the soon-to-be-vacant Skeena-Bulkley Valley NDP seat.
Ramsay grew up in the north and has spent time living in numerous communities throughout the riding.
Generational unity is a key feature of Ramsay’s policy as she looks to leave the next generation of leaders something to build on.
With four years of Political Science at UNBC, Ramsay has an extensive background in politics.
In the past she volunteered on former Yukon conservative MP Ryan Leaf’s campaign before re-evaluating her political beliefs.
Ramsay also has experience at the provincial level, having worked on Bruce Bidgood’s campaign.
Last week, current MP Nathan Cullen announced he will not be running for re-election, leaving the door open to new candidates.
Ramsay is also the sister of current City of Terrace Councillor Evan Ramsay.
