BC’s independent police watchdog is looking into an incident involving Prince George RCMP.
The Independent Investigations Office says it was notified about a February 28th arrest and injury to a male.
Prince George RCMP say an officer tried to pull over a vehicle shortly before noon. The force say the vehicle collided with a marked police vehicle and the male driver was arrested while trying to flee on foot.
Shortly after the arrest, the male driver complained of pain and a hospital visit revealed a broken arm.
The IIO is investigating in order to determine if there is a connection between the injuries and the officer’s actions or inactions.
The office investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether or not there is any allegation of wrongdoing.
