A Northern B.C. MP wants the federal government to review the transfer of a convicted serial killed from a maximum-security prison to a medium-security facility.
Cody Legebokoff was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years in 2014 for the first-degree murders of Loren Leslie, Jill Stuchenko, Cynthia Maas, and Natasha Montgomery in the Prince George area between 2009 and 2010.
Cariboo Prince George Conservative MP Todd Doherty raised the issue in the House of Commons last week, saying the decision was made by Corrections Canada without notification of two of the victims’ families.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says he plans to review the matter and follow up with Doherty when he has more information.
