Chief Don Roberts will continue his run as elected Band Chief for the Kitsumkalum First Nation following yesterday’s election.
With 122 votes, the incumbent outpaced runner-up Troy Sam by 52 votes, while Janice Pearl Robinson placed third with 34 votes.
To date, Chief Roberts has served 12 years as Chief.
As for the Band Council, every candidate who garnered more than 100 votes ended up nabbing a council seat.
In order of votes received, the next run of Kitsumkalum Councillors will feature: Cindy Bohn, Lisa Wesley, Kathy Wesley, Kenny Brown, Aaron Horner, Wayne Bolton, and Troy Sam.
In total, 226 votes were received in the race for the Chief spot from 631 eligible voters.
