BC’s gang enforcement unit has announced more charges in connection with an alleged drug trafficking ring in the Peace region.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit says the investigation, which began in July of 2015, focused on street and mid-level drug traffickers.
The lengthy probe saw the seizure of $57,000 in cash, an AR15 assault-style rifle and other firearms, as well as drugs like cocaine, crystal meth, and fentanyl.
The CFSEU says 120 criminal charges were laid against 36 people, resulting in guilty verdicts or guilty pleas against 21 individuals.
Six individuals are waiting to be sentenced, another six are awaiting trial, and five people were found not guilty or had charges stayed.
The unit is still looking seeking four suspects wanted in connection with the investigation.
