Last week, Quesnel became the first ever community outside the lower mainland to host the Men’s Provincial Curling Championships, an achievement which Mayor Bob Simpson says the City should be proud of.
Held at the West Fraser Centre by the Quesnel Curling Club, this year’s Championships were also the first time that both the men’s and women’s events were held together.
More than 170 residents came out to volunteer for the event in some capacity.
Simpson says the City should be proud of the event as they take another step towards becoming a destination community.
Next, according to Simpson, the City should look forward to hosting Minerals North in 2020.
