Williams Lake RCMP say thieves are filling up on stolen gas cards.
Mounties have several reports of stolen fuel cards from fleet vehicles, including taxis and transport trucks.
Investigators say, in all the recent cases, the PIN number for the gas card was either written on or near the card, making it easy for the culprits to fuel up at a local cardlock.
RCMP say the thieves may be filling up large tidy tanks because some of the amounts charged against the credit card are over $2000.
Police are urging businesses that use fleet fuel cards to store them in a safe place with a secure PIN number.
