Federal Natural Resources Minister Amarjeet Sohi says the government is focused on getting things right this time around in relation to the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.
When asked yesterday whether progress would be made on the project ahead of this year’s federal election, Sohi said he was unsure.
While Sohi’s comments failed to shed much light on the government’s plans, he did say that all Indigenous consultations in the NEB’s review process are on schedule.
Last year, the Federal Court of Appeal stalled the project for its failure to adequately consult with First Nations.
Sohi says that, this time around, the government needs to make sure they do things correctly.
