British Columbia’s provincial government has filed their argument in the National Energy Boards review of the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.
Focused on defending the interests of both BC’s residents and its environment, the government took up a position as an intervener to ensure both are considered.
In their argument, the province recommends against the approval of the project, citing mainly the impacts a spill would have on the coastal ecosystem and environment.
Final argument submissions will be held for considerations on additional conditions if the pipeline does end up acquiring approval.
