Healthcare workers in Chetwynd are helping to improve the lives of forestry workers by bringing the healthcare to them.
Nurses and paramedics from the Chetwynd Primary Care Clinic recently teamed up with Canfor and West Fraser to offer on-site health screening and education.
Members of the interprofessional healthcare team set up shop at the two mills to perform blood sugar and blood pressure checks and offer healthy lifestyle tips.
On top of generally improving education among the workers, the team was able to catch two possibly serious health conditions early and get them to the hospital for treatment.
