LNG Canada says their Kitimat project will be moving forward exactly as planned, despite opposition to the Coastal GasLink pipeline which would fuel the plant.
Last night the joint venture group issued a statement saying that they will be sticking to their construction schedule in order to maintain confidence in the project, and maintain employment opportunities.
In the statement, they also mentioned that, while they respect the view point of those opposed to the project, they also believe the decisions of 25 First Nations, and local governments to support the project should also be respected.
According to the group, the level of support received by their project is unprecedented for a natural resource development project.
They hope to be able to move forward in a way that is respectful to all, while mending and healing relationships with those who oppose the project.
