Emergency Management BC is hoping for a safer 2019, as they urge residents to make improved emergency preparedness their resolution in the new year.
According to EMBC, the best place to start is by preparing an all-encompassing home emergency kit.
An emergency kit includes: a first aid kit, battery operated radio, flashlight, batteries, a whistle, cellphone with a solar charger, a map, dust mask, water, and food for at least three days.
With record setting wildfires for the second year in a row, as well as a number of drastic flooding events, 2018 was one of BC’s worst in terms of emergency events.
