Two Prince Rupert area First Nations will soon be the owners of a 10 percent stake in Ridley Terminals.
During a statement today, the Federal government announced the launch of the sales process for the Terminal.
A 90 percent stake will be up for purchase, while the remaining 10 percent stake will be split between the Lax Kw’alaams band and the Metlakatla First Nation.
According to the Canada Development Investment Corporation, they are looking for a buyer who will operate the terminal in a long-term, sustainable way.
