Just two days remain until the country-wide legalization of cannabis, but those looking to purchase local may have to wait a few months.
According to Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth, the government is currently processing more than 170 individual dispensary requests, but just one store will open on October 17th.
The lone store opening on Wednesday will be in Kamloops, while the rest of the province will be able to purchase marijuana online.
Currently, 62 of the pending requests have already been approved by the provincial government and are waiting on local government approval.
