A spike in motorcycle related deaths across the province has the BC Coronoers’ Service stressing safety for riders on the roads.
30 people have died as a result of motorcycle crashes this year as of July, with 18 in July alone, more than doubling last year’s total through July.
An indepth study found that speed of the motorcyclist contributed to more than a third of motorcycle deaths since 2008, and that factors relating to the motorcycle or rider contributed to 70 percent of fatalities.
