Strong winds that could cause damage are expected along the coast later today.
Southeast winds will build to around 90 kilometres an hour, with gusts up to 110, beginning late this afternoon and continuing into the evening.
The strongest winds will impact exposed coastal areas of the North Coast and Haida Gwaii.
A powerful frontal system moving in today is driving the windy conditions. Winds are expected to ease off around midnight once the system passes.
There is the potential for power outages, along with damage to roofs, fences, tree branches, and temporary structures.
Residents are advised to secure loose items and be prepared for possible disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities.
