Environment Canada says Drivers on Highway 97 between Clinton and 100 Mile House can expect near-zero visibility in dense fog. Conditions are especially bad around Big Bar.
The fog is expected to stick around until Thursday morning, with visibility dropping suddenly at times.
Motorists are urged to slow down, use headlights, and leave plenty of space between vehicles. Weather in the area can change quickly, creating hazardous driving conditions.
Also Freezing rain is on the way for parts of the Cariboo tonight.
Environment Canada says the Chilcotin and the Highway 97 corridor from Clinton to Lac La Hache can expect snow mixed with freezing rain starting this evening, and closer to midnight around 100 Mile House. The system is expected to ease early Thursday morning.
Up to two millimetres of ice buildup is possible, and conditions could get slippery fast. Roads, walkways, and mountain passes may be icy — and those icy patches could be hard to spot.
