The West Moberly Corporate Alliance (WMCA), the economic development arm of West Moberly First Nations, has expanded its roster of partnerships with the addition of two Alberta-based companies: The Crossing Group and Nakoda Energy.
The Crossing Group, headquartered in Nisku, is regarded as a leader in trenchless construction and underground pipeline infrastructure. The company has contributed to several of western Canada’s largest energy projects, including Coastal GasLink, the Trans Mountain Expansion, and the NOVA Gas Transmission Expansion. Their work focuses on complex subsurface crossings designed to reduce environmental disturbance and keep key infrastructure operating reliably.
Nakoda Energy, based in Grande Prairie, provides construction, maintenance, and energy-sector services throughout Alberta and northeastern B.C. The company brings additional capacity and technical experience to the Alliance’s growing network of partners.
Both companies say that working with West Moberly First Nations reflects a commitment to long-term, respectful collaboration with Indigenous communities. They emphasize the importance of supporting Indigenous-led initiatives, honouring traditional territories, and building relationships grounded in accountability and shared benefit.
The West Moberly Corporate Alliance says these new partnerships will help enhance local economic opportunities, expand service capacity, and support community-driven development priorities across the region.
