Xatśūll First Nation is reclaiming the land where the Nenqayni Wellness Centre currently operates, a major step in supporting the Nation’s vision for healing, connection, and community wellness. The transition will officially begin on April 1, 2026, following more than a decade of discussion, reflection, and community dialogue.
The land has long been part of Xatśūll’s history, carrying generations of memories tied to healing and community care. While the Nation will now steward this space, the work and legacy of the Nenqayni Wellness Centre will continue to be recognized and celebrated. Starting next month, Nenqayni will shift to in-community services and outreach to ensure that care remains accessible to those who need it.
Guided by Secwépemc teachings, the wisdom of Elders, and the energy of youth, Xatśūll’s leadership emphasizes that this move is about reclaiming stewardship, not ending healing. The Nation is working closely with members to shape the future of the space, aiming to create places that nurture learning, connection, and balance across generations. This step is seen as both a continuation of healing and a strengthening of the community’s bond with the land.
