CFNR is launching its first-ever Radio for Recovery radiothon this Friday, September 26, broadcasting live from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on CFNR-FM Terrace and Journey 103.6 FM Vancouver (CJNY-FM).
The 12-hour event aims to raise funds and awareness for drug and alcohol recovery among First Nations communities in British Columbia. Listeners will hear recovery stories shared throughout the day by Elders, youth, community members, and support workers across the province.
Funds raised will benefit two key partners: the First Nations Health Foundation (FNHF) and the Shayne William Robinson Fund, held in trust by Together We Can. The fund supports Northern B.C. First Nations individuals facing addiction who are ineligible for traditional treatment funding.
Coinciding with National Recovery Month, the radiothon encourages reflection, wellness, and support for those impacted by addiction.
In addition to the radio broadcast, the event will be live-streamed through CFNR’s and Journey FM’s websites. Donors can choose which foundation they wish to support directly.
