The Lax̱g̱alts’ap Village Government has released a statement regarding an active investigation in the community following the discovery of human remains at the local cemetery. The Lisims RCMP informed the village government about the find and have initiated an investigation that is expected to continue.
Chief Councillor Sheldon Martin urged residents to stay away from the area to ensure the investigation is carried out thoroughly and without interference. While acknowledging the community’s concerns, Martin reassured citizens that there is no immediate threat or danger.
The Village Government has committed to providing updates as more information becomes available. Residents are asked to remain patient as authorities conduct their work.
