Prince George and Vanderhoof RCMP responded to several bomb threats on the evening of September 10th. The first threat was made to the University Hospital of Northern B.C., with additional calls received at assisted living facilities in both communities. Authorities quickly enacted safety protocols while officers conducted searches at all affected locations. After a thorough investigation, police confirmed the threats were false and connected.
No ongoing threats to public safety were found, and authorities have assured the public that there is no further risk. This incident follows a similar pattern of bomb threats in August, when courthouses in Prince George and Williams Lake were evacuated due to potential threats. In both cases, RCMP investigations revealed there was no actual danger.
Police are still investigating the source of these false threats. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP or Crime Stoppers, where tips can be submitted anonymously.
