Emergency Department services at Fort Nelson Hospital interrupted until 7:00am Thursday, August 21st

Northern Health says the Emergency Department at the Fort Nelson Hospital will be unavailable starting 4:00pm this afternoon, Wednesday, August 2th, until 7:00am Thursday, August 21 due to ‘unexpected staffing challenges’.

Those in the Fort Nelson area in need of immediately emergency care for life-threatening issues should not hesitate to call 911, as transport to the nearest available facility can be arranged.

Those with non-urgent needs have been asked to check in with the primary care provider first for appointments, while those without have been encouraged to make use of the Northern Health Virtual Care Clinic, or the First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day program.
