Residents of Fraser Lake are being notified of a temporary change to the Emergency Department hours at the Fraser Lake Health Centre, effective immediately. The ER will now operate from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, closing one hour earlier than usual. This adjustment is made to help support nursing staff in managing their workloads while continuing to provide emergency care to the community.
The Primary Care Clinic and laboratory services will remain unaffected by this change, operating as usual during regular hours.
In case of life-threatening emergencies, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, or severe bleeding, residents should always call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest medical facility. For non-urgent health concerns, individuals can access the NH Virtual Clinic daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, or the First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day program for Indigenous patients.
For general health advice or to determine if an emergency room visit is necessary, residents are encouraged to contact HealthLink BC at 8-1-1, available 24/7. The community will be updated when regular ER hours are reinstated.
