LNG Canada is advising the public of scheduled flaring activity taking place today August 7th and Tuesday August 12th as part of an inline inspection of the Coastal GasLink pipeline.
The flare will reach heights between 20 and 35 metres, and residents can expect increased noise and visible black smoke during this time.
Flaring is a safety measure regulated by the province to ensure controlled combustion of natural gas during specific operations. While this is part of commissioning work, it is not expected to be routine once the facility is fully operational.
