A transport truck was towed after being found in violation of several safety regulations on Highway 97 near Fort Nelson, BC. On July 7, 2025, a BC Highway Patrol officer saw the truck bypassing a weigh station. The officer followed and performed a roadside inspection, which revealed multiple issues. The trailer, which was carrying a sea can filled with heavy furniture, was not securely fastened to the vehicle, and the truck exceeded its manufacturer’s weight rating. Additionally, two of the trailer’s tires were bald and deformed, creating a significant safety risk. The truck’s exhaust system was also improperly installed, putting pedestrians at risk of burns. The driver received multiple fines, including one for carrying unsecured cargo and another for operating the vehicle with an overweight load. The trailer was removed from the road for further inspection, and the driver was required to pay for towing, inspection, and any necessary repairs. BC Highway Patrol reminds all drivers to ensure their vehicles are properly maintained and their cargo is secure to prevent dangerous situations and avoid hefty fines.
