British Columbia is seeking public feedback on its CleanBC program as part of an independent review to evaluate the program’s effectiveness in energy efficiency and emissions reduction. The review is led by experts Merran Smith and Dan Woynillowicz, who will assess how well CleanBC is working and where it could improve. The initiative includes supports for cleaner transportation, energy-efficient home upgrades, and emission reductions in industries. Public input will help determine how the program is impacting communities, industries, and the economy, and will inform future recommendations. The review process will engage various stakeholders, including Indigenous groups, local governments, and environmental organizations. A survey is open to the public until August 1, 2025, while written submissions are accepted until July 18, 2025, for most groups and until August 1, 2025, for Indigenous groups and local governments. The final draft recommendations are due by October 15, 2025, with the full report expected in late fall 2025.
