Prince Rupert residents will soon be able to grab a Teen Burger and a frosty root beer.
After years of anticipation, A&W is officially setting up shop in the city’s downtown core. Excavators are already on site at the prominent intersection of Third Avenue and McBride Street, across from the new RCMP detachment and near the roundabout currently under construction.
The development is led by the McMurray Group, a B.C.-based franchisee with deep roots in the North.
They received their development permit in mid-May. The group opened its first A&W in Cache Creek in 1995 and now operates most Highway 16 locations, except for Houston.
There’s no word yet on when the Prince Rupert A&W will open.
