As Parliament resumes today, Mark Carney and the Liberal MPs are focused on implementing the vision Canadians endorsed in the April 28 election. The team’s agenda aims to create the strongest economy in the G7, reduce costs for Canadians, and make housing more affordable, while also fostering job creation and strengthening Canada’s global trading relationships.
Among the first-time MPs joining the Liberal team are Bruce Fanjoy, who won in Carleton by defeating Pierre Poilievre after canvassing over 15,000 doors, and Sima Acan, who became the first Turkish-Canadian to serve in the House of Commons. The team also includes nationally recognized singer-songwriter David Myles from Fredericton–Oromocto and Mandy Gull-Masty, the first Indigenous Minister of Indigenous Services from Abitibi–Baie-James–Nunavik–Eeyou. These new members will work alongside the team to ensure a stronger, more inclusive future for Canadians. The government is committed to delivering the changes that Canadians want and deserve in their communities.
