Fishing For Cash!
When you hear the Fishing for Cash Sound, be the 9th caller at 250-638-0056 for your chance to reel in some cash— or maybe a can of salmon!
Cast your line and you could hook a variety of cash prizes. Feeling lucky? You can cast again for a shot at a bigger catch — but beware, you might pull in a smaller prize… or even that sneaky can of salmon.
You can cast up to three times, but whatever you catch on your final cast is yours to keep — cash or can!
🎁 And here’s the bonus:
If you reel in a can of salmon, you’ll still win a $50 gift card to Skeena Valley Meats AND you’ll be entered into the Grand Prize Draw for $2,000 CASH!
Rules
- How to enter On the Air: Listen to CFNR and call in when you hear the Fishing for cash Sounder. Be caller 9 and ask the announcer to Fish for Cash
- Announcer will explain the rules, and when the caller is ready to cast, play the cast SFX, then Reel SFX
- The caller will win a randomly selected prize (1 of 20 predetermined cash prizes—or a can of salmon!) The cash prizes will trigger one of three different sound effects based on the prize amount, while the can of salmon will have its own unique sound effect.
- If it’s cash they’re allowed to gamble and cast again for a bigger prize, or risk getting stuck with the salmon. You can ONLY recast TWICE, whatever you land on will be the final amount (or can of fish) you will receive that day.
- Listeners can call in ONCE to enter.
- The contest opens May 19, 2025 at 6am PST and closes June 6 , 2025 at 4pm PST.
- Prize: The grand prize draw will be made randomly from all on-air qualifiers and valid online entries received. The winner will be announced during the Afternoon show on Friday, June 6th
- Eligibility: Entrants must be at least 18 years of age, must not have won a major prize within the last year and must not reside in the same household as a CFNR employee.
- Once a name is pulled, the announcer will attempt to contact the person prior to naming them the winner. Should there be no direct contact via phone with the name drawn, another name will be pulled and, again, must have contact with the person. This will be done until direct contact via phone is made and that person will be named the winner.
- An audio recording will be made of the phone call and CFNR will have full rights to use this audio for promotional purposes. The named winner also gives the rights to CFNR to use any photos taken of them for promotional purposes.
