A fire broke out the evening of May 5 at 101 Marsh Drive in Quesnel, a city-owned building that houses Sprout Kitchen and the Nourish Food Bank, operated by the Canadian Mental Health Association of Northern BC.
Thanks to the quick response from the Quesnel Fire Department, the fire was contained and extinguished before it could spread. No injuries were reported, and all staff and community members are safe.
Damage is currently being assessed, and next steps are underway. The organizations involved thank the community for its support and patience during this time.
