Yesterday just before 8 p.m., Fort St John RCMP responded to a report of a man attempting to break into a truck in a parking lot on 112 Avenue and 86 Street. Officers quickly located the suspect, identified as Devin Calliou, who was arrested for outstanding warrants from Dawson Creek and Beaverlodge, Alberta. Further investigation led to new charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, mischief to property, and two counts of failing to comply with court orders. Calliou, well-known to police in the Peace Region, is currently in custody, awaiting a court appearance to determine bail. The RCMP thanked the public for their help in reporting the suspicious activity, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in addressing vehicle thefts in the area.
